Hi MD, I am keen to find out if the frame & motor are as from the factory. See attached photos, only 284 miles on the clock and the splines are perfect, as is the bore and piston and rings and the primary and secondary IMG_2196.jpgIMG_2197.jpgIMG_2199.jpgIMG_2200.jpgIMG_2201.jpgIMG_2202.jpgcog. Should I move this post over to the Restoration Forum??

Looks like she has done some mileage judging by the wear on the sprockets; but! the bore looks great with no scoring on the piston either.  Are there any markings on the piston +20 +40 etc?.  The dating officer may be able to proffer some advice on original frame and motor details.  As for moving to the restoration forum (I've already moved it!, cocorico) I would start a new thread upon starting your restoration.  Take plenty of pics as you strip and tear down as these will be invaluable when you start the re-assembly process...  Black and white Haynes manual pics will only get you so far... LOL.

Have fun, also have a swear jar, packet of band aids handy and plenty of 'thinking' ale on hand! lol.  Oz Bantams are a good local source for bits n Bobs as well as those UK suppliers recommended in the products/services threads.

MD cheers

RAPT. My frame and motor came out of the factory together!! An original Bantam (except for the handle-bars, for some reason). Now to restore the paint, chrome and rubbers....

It's all happening now. Stripped the bike down and now cleaning off the grease and paint ready to repaint it. The orange paint has been sprayed over original Mist Green, so all back to bare metal then off to the spraypainters.
