It all looks perfect - like the lawn.

Looking damn good there Roy. Should be together in no time. Lot to be said for these Bantams, I'm still gathering Fanny B parts after over 2 years! That bikes going to look so smart when it's done, and the dual seat works great.

Cheers Col

Hi All,feeling a bit better today so thought a shift in the garage was needed, suffering from cabin fever!

Got a bit more done, not finished yet but well on the way, some detailing to do and cables to sort plus a 12v rewire harness to fashion anyway heres some more pictures, not the best pics but you get the idea where I'm at with it.Just thought I'd mention the bike starts first kick, ticks over nicely and revs just fine.05-IMG_0327.JPG07-IMG_0329.JPG08-IMG_0330.JPG09-IMG_0331.JPG10-IMG_0332.JPG

Thanks Hans, the bike has only had one previous owner and it was black from the factory with a dual seat,he unfortunately died not long ago and I bought the remains of the bike from his daughter and have rebuilt it as near to original as was practical, hope fully his daughter will approve as she also is a biker,

Hi Mick, yes it's turning out nice and thanks for your comments, hope Ria would approve! A bit of fine tuning now and wiring harness to sort, but it starts easily and runs great no smoke or knocks, not road tested it yet (no clutch cable) I've sourced some Lycett aftermarket rear footrests which should look great they were used a lot on the plungers back in the day so next couple of weeks should see an MOT then get it registered hopefully with its original Reg.number with the help of Steve Walsh 😀

Cheers Roy

Well a bit of a strange turn of events!

After showing my restored D1 at several rallies this summer,I was contacted by Mr S Priest who is assembling a museum in Moreton in the Marsh asking me to sell the D1 to him for his museum,he offered a very realistic price which I accepted.

I have surprised myself selling it but I am really pleased that it will be kept in a controlled environment and hopefully enjoyed by lots of visitors to the Museum,I collated all the history of the bike which was fairly easy as it only had one owner and sent all the pictorial evidence of the restoration to the museum to use as they see fit.

The bike can now be seen at Batsford Arboretum Museum.

Oh well onward and upwards, hope it continues to promote interest in our bikes for many years to come.

cheers Digby
