It'll give you time to plan the next project or two anyway, Colin  🙂

May the good work continue in 2021

As promised the Bantam is now finished apart from proper road trial, all the re-chromed parts have been fitted, plus wheels aligned, everything spannered up and evreything works, so we are both happy and really pleased with how it looks.

All remains is to wish everyone here a happy and healthy new year.

Colin/Leon

I'm with Glen. I'm painting a D3 this colour in Spring, so you could just repeat the job laugh Did Leon cut his own templates for the tank panels?

I hate myself for doing this, considering the wonderful standard of the resto, but are the nacelle grommets missing? And do I detect two horn pushes? Not that it matters. As I say, I'm berating myself as I type and loathe that kind of nit-picking which is unnecessary with such wonderful workget-me-coat

Thanks from the both of us guys, your kind comments make the hard work worthwhile, I bought the templates for the tank off ebay, it wasn't easy to use but gave us (sorry, Leon) a very good idea where to position everything and it did turn out well.

Don't berate yourself Stewart, comments good or bad are fine as long as they are constructive, the horn push on the clutch lever is an engine cut out, I once had a nasty occasion to have a bike on it's side after a spill and the engine was revving it's guts out so I do try where possible to fit an engine stop, and the grommets were discussed at length, Leon said fit them but I couldn't see them in the spares book so they weren't fitted but as you have pointed out that they are missing, so I have fitted some and it does look much better, I dare say I will have a "told you so" from Leon.

Cheers Colin

I have always loved that colour. Without a doubt, it’s the one I would have picked if I’d bought a bantam new. I’m in the middle of refurbishing a set of front forks for my D1 and I also have to repair the rear mudguard, both of which would need paint afterwards. I am seriously considering biting the bullet and repainting the whole bike in burgundy rather than mist green.
