I have a set of waterslip  transfers for my tank. (with the Bantam «censored»)

Is there a transfer for the cream teardrop or is it a mask and paint job?   Is there a better type of masking tape to avoid a feather edge

Hi Joe,

unsure if this is any help to you, but there is a template on ebay..

Can't say if it's any good or not, I've only noticed it while doing searches..

There will be better than me to help with the painting..

Regards,

Alan.

I used 3mm or 4mm (I forget which) Jtape to lay out the basic shape. It's very flexible and I just copied the shape of the tank, only smaller to get ivory panel shape. Just kept looking from the side until it looked right. Then I ran thicker masking tape around the Jtape along with newspaper then sprayed Ivory. Then I layed more Jtape each side of the existing 3mm tape, then removed the middle bit. Into this gap I painted red. Not sure if that makes sense....

Finally I did the external gold stripe by laying 3 rows of Jtape together and removing the middle one (thus having an even width). It worked out well.

3M do similar tapes.

Painter gave me a cream panel to which I added  the rooster

Looks not bad even if I say it myself
