I'm having difficulty sourcing the headstock cup and cone bearings for a 1966 D7, everywhere seems to be out of stock. One supplier I've found has said they have the the stock except for the upper cone (65 – 5319)  however, they have advised they can supply a C15 upper cone with integrated dust cover (40 - 5029). My questions are therefore:

1) Can anyone please advise if the C15 upper cone with dust cover is compatible with the D7 headstock, top yoke etc?

and/or

2) Can the C15 upper cone be easily separated from the integrated dust cover and therefore the upper cone can be used on the D7?

Many thanks

Highfield

Sunny's right. If the cups / cones are brinelled (ie marked by the balls), you may be able to re-use them by turning them through 180 deg (ie, put the front of the cup or cone to the back of the stem).

1956 D3 running, lights to sort. 7 other bikes in the Barn. 1950 D1 engine being rebuilt (slowly).

Hi Sunny, Cocorico and John

Thanks for your replies and suggestions. Fortunately after scouring the Bantam Club site, the internet and firing off various emails I have managed to obtain the parts required.

Once again thanks for your help

Cheers

Greg
