Managed to get hold of a chap who says he has a new Lucas PRS4. Now as I am building my Lucas bantam and sourcing the bits, I have no idea what they look like properly, I have found pictures on the net of the top of one, but not the underneath. I have used the search box and cant find a picture.

It just seems to good to be true £45 for a new one, and it would have to be new old stock as they don't make them, not even repo ones.

Thanks in advance

The switch came today, and it's the correct one, now I just have to find the knob that goes with it.

Thats great but where did you manage to find one ?
they are perhaps the rarest switch of all made by Lucas

I found an old listing on ebay, it was showing as not sold, got in touch with the chap, and he said that it was sold, but he had another. Its not new as he said, and it looks like the wrong key, but its something to work with.

Thanks Martin_uk, much appreciated. Mine came with the spring, and my dad turned a washer, so that's now fits very well. Just got to find a knob now, although I have found that (Lucas 316420) fits straight on, albeit a bit to big. So if I cant find the correct one, I'll Dremel it down. got to find the ammeter as well, and then another 1000000 parts and the bike will be complete 🙂

I think I found a 344197 spring on my shed floor the other week, glad I didn't throw it out now, never had the switch though, so am unable to understand how it got there. If anyone needs one, PM me.

Four now on the road and at least several in bits.

Hi,

how did you get on with finding a knob for the switch, I’m in the same boat..

Was your alternative knob a success..?

Cheers,

Alan.

An update..

I too wanted a PRS4 knob but I haven’t been able to get one, so not hearing from Megga I bought a Lucas 316420 knob as Megga suggested she might use.
Result, it seemed an almost perfect fit.. the slots in the knob matched perfectly with the switch, no modifications, a pleasing substitute until the right item turns up.F7465C43-0F36-4BD6-99A8-9F3CEDC63099.jpeg
