Hi all I am aware that points cam can wear down but my one has one shoulder on it but I have seen images on new points cams for bantams that look like they have a double shoulder on them I hope the one I have got is correct but im not 100 per cent sure, and also if I needed a new one there doesn't seem to be many new ones around to buy many thanks Joe.

Carb getting very hot is not good...could be vaporizing the fuel.
If your getting lots of sparking at the points it points to a duff condenser...you will always get a bit but not much...common to fail...cheap and nasty these days.
You could do with setting the ignition timing accurately.
