Hi all,

new to the group so if I'm out of line kick my «censored» and let me know.

20 years ago I rebuilt a 1958 D1 and had several years of good riding until I needed to sell it and now I'm rebuilding a 1958 D5 and struggling on Ebay or any place to find a few items that are now holding me back from moving to the next step and wondering if someone could direct me to site that may still have the following parts for sale OR could send me technical drawings or measurements so I could try to replicate them.

parts needed are:

for the dual seat - support bracket: 90-9196 and stiffening plate: 42-6782

hand rail: 90-9193

LHS cover: 90-9243 - have attached a photo, could someone tell me if this is the correct type for this bike Bantam Major (yes, early 1958 Major) or is it a different cover

I have attached a photo of the chook so far bantam-LHS-cover.jpg IMG_2439-1.JPG

Hi Peter and welcome to the Forum. That's a really nice build you've got there! Parts are a becoming more of an issue especially as time passes and tinworm takes it's toll. Perhaps someone will be able to help out, otherwise it's just playing the waiting game on ebay.... We've got quite  few members in your corner of the world, so fingers crossed

You've worked out how to post pics which is great. If you're searching for something in the huge amount of data on the site, you're better using google. Type "D5 crank bantam forum" into google and youll get a load of results. Just replace "D5 crank" with whatever it is that you're looking for.

Good luck with the build, looking forward to seeing your progress

There's a whole topic on different seat versions in FAQs, I think it includes details covering the front mounting bracket.
