Hi All,

I bought most of a 1953 Lucas D1 Bantam.   I am attaching a picture of the front mudguard to find out if anyone has seen a front mudguard like it.

This is the only Bantam I have ever seen in the US but have seen many pictures but never a front mudguard like this one.

Regards,

JohnJohns-mudguard-1.jpg

Hi bantammad ere a John interesting mudguard you have it’s certainly not bantam the flutes in the guard wouldn’t line up with the fork legs by the looks of it? The guards a little blt Americanised looking at it how it’s flared out perhaps some one has tried to make it look like an Indian sort of but I would guess it’s from an American bike of some sort it may be 50s60s it’s a nice shape all the same??  Regards Les

Hi,

Could that fabulous guard be off HD’s version of the Bantam, was it called a Hummer?

Can you make it fit? Or will it hit the frame downtube?

regards

D7/14 hybrid (4 speed with D7 crank etc.) on the road, D10 Bushman awaiting rebuilding.

Yep, I`m with Sunny.....Honda, because of the style and manufacturing process it appears to have been through. Maybe a model that never made it to Europe. Of course, they probably robbed the style off Indian or another.
