I've just started on my 1960ish D7 Bantam Super and have discovered it has an Amal 376/313 carb from January 1965 and not a 375 carb.

Can anyone shed any light on to why this might of been done or if it's going to cause me any problems as has been suggested to me?

Hi Steve,

I may be wrong on this, but I know at present Amal are not producing the 375 anymore, but are selling the 376. If your's look's new, maybe the previous owner bought the 376 as the 375 hasn't been available for a while. I'm not certain exactly what the differences are between the models but i'd imagine they are only slight. Check the jet's and needle's to see if they are relative to your D7, and if they are then you may as well stick with it if it seem's to work okay. Hope i'm not giving you false info. though!!
