Hi Dave,

At the start of each year Bryan, our membership secretary gets inundated with renewals. He gets through them as quickly as possible but it does take time, he does this in his spare time too, he has a full time job. You should have had a receipt from Paypal for your payment, and the membership card will be along as soon as Bryan can manage it. Don't worry, as long as you have paid you're  still a member and will still get your Banter.

If your really worried, then give Bryan a call to make sure he has it in hand.

Current bikes......1958 D5, a 77 Suzuki GT250 and a 77 Honda CB125S. I have a B175 in the workshop and a 76 Honda C90 waiting its turn. A 1980 Honda CB400N waiting for MOT.  Everyday ride is a 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster.

23rd April I paid by PayPal to rejoin the Club, as opposed to staying as a forum member. However, I still cannot get access to the members area. I already have my Club number etc and have requested Piquet to give me access to the members are. Unfortunately, he tells me this is not possible without the membership sec giving him an updated list. I have sent the membership sec a request, but was deafened by the silence. Before people tell me, I know the Club is run by volunteers, I work for a disability Charity manned primarily by willing Volunteers, all I was wanting was access to the members area. As I do not seem to be able to get access or a response and as I am now going away I will sadly leave it in the hands of PayPal.

Stick with it, Im sure Bryan our membership secretary will update Piquet soon and then you will have access to the members area. If you have a copy of the Banter, the membership secretary's number is on the inside front cover.

Membership renewals are due but I'm not sure if I should be renewing or not. Will there continue to be a BSA Bantam club and if there is will the forum still be operational and provide access to the members area for technical documents etc?

Little concerned I may pay my subs and end up with nothing.

No one can advise you to renew or not, the choice is yours. I have no doubt the club will still be here and I cannot see the forum closing down. I am a member until the end of this year because I paid for two years last time, but I won’t renew after that, but that’s my own choice.

Hello Everybody,

Pete the Secretary here.

Here is a bit of clarification.

As explained by Steve, the membership process is still very manual so patience is a virtue, particularly this time of year, drop Bryan an Email and he will put you at the top of the pile. This year we will look into automating the membership renewal/ joining system but this inevitably involvers expenditure so we hav eto be sure it's right for the club.

The BSA Bantam club will continue to exist for the forseeable future. Recent resignations from valued members of the Committee have been regretable, particularly Steve Walsh and Paul Kendall. Current members will know I have advertised the Dating Officer post in the December Banter, to which I have had one promising reply. Paul's resignation came after the deadline of the magazine so I could not advertise that post. I have asked Paul to review the current Webmaster job description and manual although this will take time as it is 6 years old. I intend to advertise the role of Forum Master/admin it on the Forum front page in due course after I've heard from Paul. We have a previous Chairman, not Bryan, Mike Kilvert or me, who is willing to Chair the AGM in March.

We are having a routine Committee meeting at the Shepton Mallet show at the end of this month to discuss the above points.

The club still has 11 standing Committee members all of whom are dedicated to maintaining the momentum of the 1400 club members and we will continue to support the Forum and Website which has been expertly managed by Paul over the last 7 or so years.

Any further questions from anyone please E-mail me at ** Please log in to view **

Cheers

Pete
