ONE WEEK TODAY.
This Sunday we are having a run to the Whittlesea Motorcycle Club village bike show. We are mustering at the Jolly Sailor Pub in Ramsey (see link below) for a 10am. This muster point is easily found on the Great Whyte halfway up or down. We will be departing for the Vine pub at Coates at 10.10 PROMPT. WE ARE NOT MEETING AT THE CROSS KEYS ON THIS OCCASION. As this is merely a departure point to depart from.
For those that have not been before, this is an old-style village bike show, park on the village green and talk bikes for an hour or so.
We are not having a static club stand, merely riding in and chilling for an hour or so. They’ll be a BBQ, and the vine pub do basic food. It goes without saying that we’ll will be travelling at the speed of the slowest bike and using quiet roads. The ride from the muster point is approx. 20/25 mins at 30mph.

Whittlesea Motorcycle Club have always shown support for us at the Upwood meets, and it’d be really nice to see some Bantams joining in to repay the respects. Having said this, all bikes are welcome so If your bikes off the road and your happy to bimble in the pack at Bantam pace then come along.

I have put a google earth street view at the bottom, and an address for those who perhaps have a sat nav or live closer to Coates. It is no more than five minutes ride from the Cross Keys, theirs bike parking and a wide area making it safe to muster and chat. Any questions drop me an email or give me a call.

Just a quick nudge to remind you that tomorrow morning we are riding to the Whittlesea Village Bike Show in Coates.

As previously discussed we are mustering at the Jolly Sailor Pub for 10am, and departing at 10.10. This pub is located on the Great Whyte Ramsey, easy to find. Halfway down on the right side.

For those that have not been to this show its one of the last old school park up on the Green and talk bikes for an hour. Try to remember a puck to put under your bike, although the ground is so hard at the moment.

Conscious of the change in weather, but also that showers are only rated at 23% likely – that gives us a 77% chance of SUN I will make a go no go call for this run no later than 09.00hrs tomorrow morning.

Remember, if the run is cancelled there is nothing stopping you riding to the event, we simply will make our own way there.

Some good news. I have had absolute confirmation from the new Land Lord at the Cross Keys that our monthly bike meet is still on, and that Bacon and Chef will be in place to satisfy the hunger on Sunday 12th August. Kick off is 10.30am, and if it’s nice we’ll be having a short run to a new location, approx. 15 mins ride away.

Monthly Run will be departing the Cross Keys at 11.45hrs prompt.

Fingers Crossed re the weather in the morning.

CAMBRIDGE REGIONAL MEMBERS.

This mornings formal run to the Whittlesea Show on the Green is CANCELLED. I took council from several regional members prior to sending you this email.

Whilst the winds are drying the roads out, I am concerned at the weather predicted late morning, and the wind speeds gathering ever greater momentum.

I am presently at Wyton, and the roads are dry however the VERY high winds will make riding within a pack dangerous. For that reason, I am with deep regret cancelling the formal mustering and riding to this event today.

It goes without saying you are of course free to make your own way to this wonderful event. I will make my own way to the show.
See you all at our next regional meet. Second Sunday of the Month. Cross Keys Upwood. KO at 10.30

Kind Regards
