Just the very briefest of updates to the regional members. For those that have visited the Cross Keys at Upwood, you'll appreciate it's location and facilities. What you might not have realised is that at the back theirs a campsite within the pub grounds with shower blocks, and toilet facilities.
to that end I am in the early phase of planning a motorcycle extravaganza for the Summer of 2017.
Although plans are in the VERY early stage, I am talking to several local owners clubs from the region with the idea that it'll be a Saturday meet, with evening entertainment ( middle of the road live music ) camping and ride outs suitable for the Bantam Riders. I am talking to Halyley about putting on a Chilli, Curry or perhaps a roast.
So far I have had interest from the Triumph Owners Club ( Peterborough - Norfolk - Lincolnshire )
BSA Owners clubs x 3 Nene and Welland and Lincs, and St. Ives.
Whittlesey Motorcycle Club.
It goes without saying that I will be putting the feelers out to all neighbouring BSA Bantam regions.
My plan is to hold a celebration of motorcycling. I started the Stilton Bike Show five years ago, which annually attracts 700 bikes between 10am and 3pm.
I do not have the resources ( man power ) I had as Chairman of the Peterborough Triumph Owners Branch it is my intention to keep this as a slightly smaller event. Each of the Clubs will be providing logistical support.
I'll keep you all posted.
Lets hope 2017 is going to be warm and dry.
