Hi,

As posted to those regional members that opted in to be notified of events in the Cambridgeshire and Rutland region.

Just one quick email to let you know that this afternoon I formally resigned to the club secretary this afternoon as your regional coordinator for the BSA Bantam Club for Cambs and Rutland.

My resignation comes into effect on Monday the 12th November.

From an acorn of an idea with Ex Chair Bryan Price, and me sitting alone outside the pub wondering if anyone else was daft enough to ride these incredibly small bikes. To witnessing double digits of Bantam Riders, turn up for a chat and a laugh has been truly wonderful.

So, what’s the future of the meets at Upwood?  well I’m still hoping to meet up with mates at least once a month, and to enable mates who wish to join me and synchronize their personal and work diary’s I’m planning that this will still happen on the second Sunday of each month.  At the cross keys in Upwood.  Owning eight classic bikes, all that’ll happen is that its name will change from the Upwood BSA Bantam Club Meet to the Upwood Bike Meet. I'll certainly be airing my bigger classics.

So how do you stay in contact to find out what’s going on?

This is very important. I will no longer contact you using the BSA Bantam supplied membership list. So, if you do wish to be notified of the meet dates, and any local vintage / classic bike runs / meet

YOU MUST EMAIL ME AND REQUEST THAT YOUR ADDED TO MY OWN EMAIL LIST OF MATES WHO WANT TO MEET ONCE A MONTH FOR A CATCH UP.

As such my last formal meet representing the county will be Sunday 11th November, it is remembrance Sunday and for those present I will invite you to partake in a minute’s silence at 11am

All that remains for me to say is thanks for the experience, and should any of you wish to volunteer for the Vacant position please email Pete Wilson the BSA Bantam Club Secretary using the contact form on this website.

Hope to see you on the 11th November where no doubt we’ll be huddled round the log fire talking bikes.  I’m hoping to be on my recently recommissioned B175. Being 12v I am tempted to fit heated grips !

All the best.

Dave
