Would get a better run of the brake cable if it were on the left side

So I take it they can be either way around? I don't want to turn up at my first meeting and someone says the forks are the wrong way around!

Are they Bantam forks? The only difference that swapping orientation will make I can think of is to alter the steering angle a little. As is, the axle is nearer to the head-stock (steeper angle), if turned around you will lessen the angle.

Not sure what the forks are off, just need help with are they the correct way around or don't it matter. If nobody (like me) knows the answer I'll look around for some BSA bantam forks to save me looking like a divvy lol.

If they are not "genuine BSA Bantam" forks, what difference does it make? Have you any experience of trials bikes? A "proper" trials bike has a steeper steering angle than a trail bike , road bike, chopper, because the trial bike is required to turn more quickly at lower speeds that the others (as I understand it). In which case, if you are building a Trials Bike, the set-up you have appears the best option with what you have. Not sure about braking, but I would think the rear is as important as the front, if not more so.

Great stuff, this is the kind of answer I'm looking for, I'll leave them as they are. I used to do a bit of trials in my youth many moons ago but not serious stuff. I just fancy revisiting the trials scene again while I'm still quite fit to have a go.

Hi,

Looks to me like they are definitely the wrong way around, the axle should be in front of the fork. Look like Suzuki TS50 forks, maybe...This would also give you more clearance between wheel / front downtube when the forks compress.

Thanks Jim

Your lead on being a TS50 took me to the TS100 which look exactly like mine, I'll swap them around now that I've had a new lug welded on and see what they look like.
