New supplies are likely to be made FROM the ship that caused the blockage!

One of these entitled yuppies went on to  explain to his girl/wife/partner/concubine that the reason the bantam was putting out so much smoke was because the valve guides were on the way out. He told me he had a friend who runs a garage who would fit new valve guides for me for a hundred quid or so. So now I am saving up for new valve guides....they must be failing cos I had to apply the brakes at 50mph on the way down the hill !!

That is hysterical .. laugh

Most serious riders I know and ride with in the pre 65 scene are running Electrex World ignitions, myself included. Fit and forget.

That would be ignition only, I presume, recalling Sponge's ongoing problems?

Decided to buy Electrex World ignitions, hopefully will be here on Saturday. Been in the shed most of this week and had the Bantam running in a fashion! It runs for 5 seconds and dies, check timing, new points, condenser, dismantle the carb & clean etc etc you know how it goes. Rather than hitting it with a hammer in frustration I've decided to at least eliminate the electric (spark) side of things. I got the bike at a reasonable price so don't mind chucking a few quid at it.

Also eliminating petrol issues by buying one of Rex's MIKUNI VM22 carbs, see how these go when installed next week.
