Hello all,

After much procrastination I have finally started converting my scruffy D7 into a trials spec bantam, I might go for green lane but am starting off as trials.

It isn't my intention to be a contender, so no drayton frames etc etc...

I have a set of ty250 yikes and some random forks to fit so the main questions are:

1. Budget rear shocks any recommendations?

2. Wheels, should I rebuild my originals or source second hand from where??

3. I have 2 engines, both needing rebuild, first is a D7 the other a D10 which would be best.

That should get me rolling but any other help or advice gratefully received.

I'm located near loughborough so any kind hearted locals willing to call in and offer guidance most welcome.

Hi and welcome. For many things 'budget' I look on Aliexpress (as well as the usual sites). I have a pair of road shocks on another bike which seem well made - a bit bright, maybe, but so what? - there is plenty of choice, measure up and have a look. As for wheels, it's surely cheaper to rebuild your own, if you can. There are plenty of posts on it, plus videos on Youtube. Good luck with the project.

Hi All,

Thanks for the answers, I'm just grafting on a set of TY250 Yolks that I have and some 35mm forks that I acquired.

I will post a pic if it looks presentable!
