My d14 is starting to struggle to pick up speed and it's running very rough. It also like to cut out when I am at a set of lights (which is annoying)

i haven't touched any setting on the carb/timing and use the bike reasonably regularly. It's been a while since I have decoked it, so I suspect it's getting near that time?

Would you agree with this?

I forgot to mention, it's got a bones electronic ignition and thus no points, condenser or other bits like that

If it was my bike I would start by cleaning the carb I have had similar problems in the past and it was dirt in the carb

Unfortunately i like rust and lost causes, usually mixed together

If your using a modern type of oil semi or fully synthetic...de-coke can be big mileages in between.

I would do as DMT says have a good look at your carb...especially the pilot circuit with its hidden jet.

I presume you have checked the idle mixture adjustment and the idle speed adjuster.

Nick.
