So the build on my tuned 175 engine continues. It will be a while yet before I have everything ready for reassembly but I'm expecting such a performance uplift that the clutch will surely be unable to cope. What are the options here for upgrading?

Thanks - as usual.

Suzuki piston, porting, big head, Dellorto carb, X7 pipe.

Does the Yamaha clutch a fit with an adapter or do I need to do some machining on the shaft to take it? Is there a link someone somewhere can point me to? Thanks.

A guy called Harry Stanistreet does the Yamaha conversion for the trials world. It does require some machining/riveting to fit the Yamaha clutch basket onto the Bantam sprocket but I think he does them on an exchange basis. Most of the Bantams in the Pre65 trials world seem to have them fitted. He is from Yorkshire somewhere, no doubt you can find him on the Internet. When I looked at the conversion at the Telford Off Road show it looked to me that it would only work on later Bantam clutches with the roller thrust race and not the phosphor bronze "washer" of the earlier engines. perhaps someone who knows about the later models can tell me if the roller thrust race will fit an earlier engine to replace the thrust washer. Thanks in advance.
