Thats odd, both sets of numbers are taken off the frame and engine right beside the front engine mount on the left hand side and they are the only numbers on the bikes that i can find. could you give me an example of what a typical set off numbers should be and where to look. thanks again

I'm not absolutely sure of the years, I thought the black d1 was a 1949 and the yellow d3 was 1954 but I don't know.

Hi Kiwi Bantam,

I think the year of manufacture is 1951 for all three, not 100% sure though, tried to work it out from the bsa bantam essential guide book,
If you want confirmation, I'm sure someone else can confirm this, or you could contact Howard the dating officer through the Bantam club and he may be able to tell you more about the numbers.

Good luck,

J

Immaculate job.
I like the yellow bike too.....does the front brake work being positioned on the left side? 😉 Spose as long as the leading edge chamfer on the shoes is reversed....?

When that photo was taken everything was just thrown together to see how she looked, the front wheel has been changed around since then.
