Hi I'm Shillelagh,

I've just taken delivery of what was a BSA Bantam before someone decided to dismantle it. I have now confirmed the year and model as being a !954/5 D3 Bantam Major with an engine number of BD3 6570, a frame number of BD2S 37303. It is still showing as being registered at the DVLA in August 1955. The registration mark is OHO 224. If anyone has any further information as to previous owners I would be interested to hear from them.

As I am undertaking this rebuild for a friend we have to decide if its going to be a straight forward rebuild or a complete restoration. This is undoubtedly going to take some time and effort whichever route we decide is best. Any suggestions regarding locating spare parts etc. will be greatly appreciated.BSA-Bantam-Project-001.jpgBSA-Bantam-Project-002.jpgBSA-Bantam-Project-003.jpgBSA-Bantam-Project-004.jpgBSA-Bantam-Project-005.jpgBSA-Bantam-Project-006.jpg

Hello Leon, I live less than ten miles away from you, I do have a few 150cc parts knocking about that I don't need etc. PM me if you like, via "inbox" third box along at top of page from left.

Four now on the road and at least several in bits.

Hi Mags 1

Thanks for your reply to my post however having navigated all over the website I have failed miserably in finding either a reference to an inbox or method of personal messaging. At this stage I am not certain what I will require for this rebuild other than a complete exhaust system and a seat. Please email on leonwhayATgmailDOTcom with a list of bits you have available.

Many Thanks

Leon

Sorry, I should have said THIRD box from RIGHT at the top of this page...start typing my username into the box, just a few letters and it will autofill.

I tried emailing you but I think your link had one too many T's or something in it?

I have an exhaust downpipe that may or may not fit of of your two mentioned items.

Also a cylinder barrel and a nacelle thingy that supports the headlamp unit.

I have two headlamp shells and a switch also, but they may not be D3 items.

I'll send the pics to your email address.

Nacelle thing is actually on ebay at the moment with two D1 types, I listed it this morning, so plenty of time to think about it.

Four now on the road and at least several in bits.

Hi

Clearly I have a different version of the site from you or maybe just the settings somewhere are different as there is NO INBOX third from the right or elsewhere. Perhaps one of the webmasters can correct this issue as they have already tried to edit my email address. Try @ instead of AT and . instead of DOT.

Many thanks

Leon

PS. Mysteriously now have an INBOX!!!!!!!

We edit email addresses (and phone numbers) so that robots and other mischievous people don't pick up your private address. You can, if you prefer, leave it out for anyone on the world wide web to see and use as they will.

From what i know, you must have more than 10 posts to be able use personal messages...

Or activated by administrators.

Maybe i am wrong. But looks like is sorted.
