The Alloy engine cases on my B175 have gone dull...whats good to get them gleaming.

Nick.

roflroflrofl You know me well!

They would not have been highly polished from the factory, so I'd use something like a scouring pad (green) and a light abrasive. To get a really fine finish you would need a polishing mop and several grades of abrasive (and lose the originality).

I recently found a very good B175 primary case on eBay and it only cost me £10.00. It was spotless because it had been vapour cleaned. However it was just too clean and would have looked odd had I fitted it. I have stuck with my original and given it a bit of the Autoglym metal polish followed by ......... an oily rag.

The covers were polished and I use autosol which is slightly abrasive. The engine cases were never polished (to aid heat dissipation I was told).
