Hi,

I've booked time off from work so can attend, is it ok to trailer the bike there? and what is the post code for the event?

Thank you

I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong

Thank you for that, My D1 trouble going round the block at the moment let along a 130 mile ride, hopefully the petrol tank being sealed will stop the constant carb cleaning .

I will be taking to the National Rally some Bantam spares that are surplus to my requirement, (see my July 23rd 'For Sale' post for full details).

All being well I'll be there on Friday; see you there!

Getting a bit carried away, Land rover loaded up with the camping gear but can't find the air bed pump. any one going got one I could borrow to blow up the bed.  I got a MOD 24hr ration pack, now all i have to do is take a trip to the shops to get a bit more food, and fit the speedo cable to the Landy as soon as the postman delivers it, also got to fit the two warning triangles to the lighting board on the trailer as the last two got nicked. Nearly forgot I need to get some petrol and two stroke oil for the Bantam. then i will be ready to roll tomorrow morning. If any one near Barnet wants there camping gear carried to the event let me know I have plenty of room in the Land rover ,also a spare seat up front , as long has you don't mind being deafened by the engine noise and screaming over drive.

I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong

Hi Everyone

For those who are coming to the National rally I have some information on the camping.

If you have a caravan or motor home you need to park up in the exhibitors camping area on the opposite side of the road to the show site where you should already find some club caravans.

If you have a tent we have two grassed areas one directly behind the area where the bikes and club marquee will be and one just around the corner which looks to be conveniently close to the beer tent.

Once the tents and bikes are unloaded they have asked if the cars can be moved to the public parking area opposite the show site for space reasons.

Mike Kilvert will also have his caravan behind the club marquees for security of the bikes and club property at night.

There is no rush to sign in on arrival Friday unless asked to as the booking area may not be in operation and we can book in Saturday morning.

looking forward to seeing you on Friday.

Jon.

My target was always to get my bantam on the road (which I did last Monday), get to the rally (115 miles), do the friday evening ride out and get home again on saturday for work on sunday (120 miles - got lost in the lanes near Kings Lynne). Having accomplished it (with a bit of fuel starvation on the way there and sorting it out in the lovely little camping area) I got back to Saltfleetby non stop with a great feeling of satisfaction and achievement and my beautiful commemorative slate - having done about 270 miles. It was nice to meet and talk with a few other bantam enthusiasts. So, thanks to everyone involved in organizing the rally, the ride out and the weather. See you.

Must have been 50+ bantams there. Great event & fantastic weather - just sad I couldn't have been there on the Sunday.

A big thank you to the good people of the Bantam club I went there knowing no one,by the end of the weekend knowing a lot of good people.

I really enjoyed my self , Made a new best friend by the name of Kimble (Dennis's dog) lol .

A big thank you to Mike and his lovely wife for the tea and cakes and plague. To Dennis for the banter and the two Yorkshire men who made me fill welcome and feed me sausage rolls. To Sonny for the felt And every one else who made me welcome. And not forgetting the good people who are doing the ride round the UK to collect money for a very good cause. And what a small world one of the men doing the ride, his Nan used to live in the same road as me. [Permission to view this image is denied]

Here's my picture contribution. I was only there for Saturday morning, but what a lovely morning it was! I got to meet a whole bunch of great people and I got to ride around the rally field, before getting lost on the way out and finding out what it is like to ride a Bantam across a ploughed field, against the furrows.

And BSA Dave - great to meet you, sorry to hear about the fire, and I didn't realise that was the famous L-R 'Trigger' we were talking about!
