Think of the machine as a jigsaw puzzle ..quite important since you have a basket case..The naming of the parts ..the military system works. The odd clanger is is more educational than you might think. The man who never made a mistake never did anything .. you will get such pleasure when this bike fires up and  in effect comes alive. No one with an ounce of wit thinks you are wasting their time.I do not do forks but am pretty good on carbs .Do join the club though: the members area will repay your sub many times.

This^^^ is absolutely spot on. You will learn so much doing it this way. Good Luck, and please don't be afraid to ask questions, however daft they may seem at the time (or even later!)

Current bikes......1958 D5, and a 77 Suzuki GT250 being rebuilt. I have a 74 Kawasaki KH400 in the queue, along with a 58 Tiger Cub and a 1980 Honda CB400N. A 1978 Honda CB125S on the road and  I currently ride a 2011 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster

Hi

Thank you for your wise words of advice and kind words of encouragement.

I am a club member and I am sure that as my efforts to rebuild my "basket case" progresses, I shall seek further valued advice and guidance from this invaluable source.

Thank you once again

Mick
