Having got tired of rolling engines around on the bench and various bits of wood, and also finding them in the way half the time, I though it was time for a stand. First thoughts were of a copy of the 'standard Bantam stand, but this seemed daft as the other bikes aren't Bantams! So several scribbles and a bit of Google-ing later I bought in some steel.[Permission to view this image is denied]

Half an hour with the chop saw, saw that lot reduced to his..

First version saw me with an engine stand but not the universal move-[Permission to view this image is denied]
able device I was after. I've used the worst case engine I have for this one as the MZ has no front mount and the rear mount doesn't go all the way through the casings.

Cheers Col

Final-ish version. Rotary version with wheels and the actual mounts are just box with a different end welded on which takes about 10 minutes so any engine should fit. The cross bars are wide enough to support the Enfield motor (in fact should take a four). I'm sure it will evolve with use but the best bit was slinging the locking bar under the pivot as it's out the way and was easy to locate, rather than the usual version with another bracket. [Permission to view this image is denied]

Just finding it handy to be able to push the engine out the way, spin it round, and rotate it for easy building and access. Hopefully others can nick bits and bats of ideas from this like I have from the others on the web.

Cheers Col
